❓ You should only need to use this article if you are trying to add a Smartcard role to the Healthtech-1 Smartcards. This is so that we can register patients.

2. Select 'Care Identity Management (CIM)' and then login with your connected smart card and pin

3. Put the full name OR smartcard ID of the Healthtech-1 smartcard into the search bar

4. Check their full name and smart card ID matches and select the user profile

5. Go to their 'Positions' section and click 'Add access positions'

6. Look under 'Positions I can add directly' or 'Other positions my Registration Authority can approve'. Select a role which you would assign to a member of staff processing registrations.

⚠️ Smartcard Role Requirements for Automation

Please make sure the assigned role allows patient registrations. If not, this could delay onboarding.

βœ… In some regions, there may already be a β€˜Healthtech-1 Digital Assistant’ role set up for your practiceβ€”please use this if available.

πŸ”„ If that role isn’t available, use an access position you would typically assign to a staff member who processes registrations.

To fully automate registrations, the smartcard must have the following activity codes enabled:

  • B0020 – Control Consent Status

  • B0264 – Access SCR Application (Perform Patient Trace)

  • B0825 – Amend Patient Demographics

  • B0830 – Perform Patient Demographics

  • B0994 – Manage Ad-hoc Reports

  • B8009 – Register Patient with Primary Care Provider on PDS

  • B8017 – Manage Patient Administration

  • B8020 – Perform Test/Investigation Requests

  • B8029 – Manage Detailed Health Records

7. Check the 'Start date' and 'End date' has pre-populated and press 'Request positions'

8. Success! You should see a βœ”οΈ
