The short answer is yes, we can! It does depend though on a couple of different factors. Please read the below and get in touch with [email protected] for next steps.

Things to consider

Is your boarding school within your catchment area? If not, we can create a special 'second catchment' so that forms can still be submitted (so long as you allow out of area registrations on the NHS England registration form).

How will this look on the form?

When registering a child, we always ensure that a person of parental responsibility (PPR) is included on the form. Before we automate the registration, we ensure that this PPR is already registered at your practice.

With boarding school students, this process needs to change slightly.

The first question on the NHS England registration form asks who is registering with the GP.

The second question then allows either the parent to state they are registering for the child, or the boarding school house parent / nurse.

Both will be able to continue on and fill in the details of the child, however we will need to know some more information.

How do I set this up?

To help set this up our end, we will need the following which we will then add as an emergency contact onto the patients record:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email

  • Telephone

  • Postcode of the boarding school

  • First line of the address as it appears on Royal Mail

Other practices have put this as generic 'Boarding school' with contact details at the school.

Email us these details at [email protected] 😊
