If you regularly configure EMIS appointment sessions, you just need to know the following:

  • Healthtech1 Not Bookable F2F - Face to face appointments, where patients to be seen at the scheduled time.

  • Healthtech1 Not Bookable TC - Telephone appointments, where patients must be called within a morning or afternoon period.

  • Healthtech1 Not Bookable Admin - Written/admin requests, booked into an "admin" appointment with reason in slot notes (you may have to right click) and to be actioned on a given day.

Put these slots back-to-back where possible β€” they may be doubled up with interpreter bookings (depending on your practice's configuration).

Bookable works by finding slot types from your EMIS appointment book to offer patients. You will need to set appointment slots to be of the correct Slot Type.

As part of the Bookable set-up, your practice has already created three slot types.

Healthtech1 Not Bookable F2F

  • These are in-person/face to face slots. You'll need to add these to a clinician working from a clinical room in your practice who can see patients.

  • Our research so far indicates that patients prefer to book these 60% more frequently than telephone consultations.

Healthtech1 Not Bookable TC

  • These are telephone appointments. The patient will select a morning or afternoon appointment time.

  • The patient will be advised that the practice will call them between between 8:00 and 13:00 for morning slots, and between 13:00 and 18:00pm for afternoon slots.

Healthtech1 Not Bookable Admin

  • These are administrative / written requests. Your admin team will need to coordinate your clinical team on these requests. They are untimed but need to be responded to on a given day so make sure your admin team are aware to leave enough time.

  • In some cases, it won't be possible to fully action a request on a single day, but please communicate this with the patient.

Convert individual slots

To make one-off alterations to slots that are already in your appointment book, you can make adhoc changes.

Highlight the slots you wish to select:

  • Click, hold, and drag

  • Control + click to select multiple individual slots

  • Shift + click to select a group of slots

Right click your selection and select "Slot properties".

Change the slot type to one of those mentioned above. Make sure there are no embargos set. Once selected, click "OK".

Update your session templates

To make permanent alterations to the templates of future sessions, you should update your session templates.

Go to "Create Session".

To edit an existing template, click "Load from template"

Search for and select the session you want to edit.

Highlight the slots that you wish to change, right click, and select "Slot properties".

Change the slot type to one of those mentioned above. Make sure there are no embargos set. Once selected, click "Apply and Close".

Repeat as required and, when you are happy with the format, choose "Save template". Any future sessions you create will have the new layout including Bookable slots!

Repeat these steps for all the session templates you want to make changes to.
