Pharmacy nomination can be automated as part of the registration process with Healthtech-1. Depending on your practice settings, patients will see different options on their registration form.

We follow the Dispensing Catchment Area rules: If a patients live more than 1 mile (1.6km) away from a pharmacy they will be a dispensing patient.

What pharmacy options can patients see?

Dispensing: on

Dispensing: off

Pick a pharmacy: on

Patient is dispensing: the practice is picked as the pharmacy

Patient is not dispensing: can pick a pharmacy**

Patient can pick pharmacy**

Pick a pharmacy: off

Patient is dispensing: the practice is picked as the pharmacy

Patient is not dispensing: get asked if they would like to keep current pharmacy*

Patient is asked if they would like to keep their current pharmacy*

* Keep current pharmacy

If pick a pharmacy is off, and dispensing is also turned off (or patient is not dispensing) patients are asked if they would like to keep their current pharmacy:

** Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)

If pick a pharmacy is on, but the patient is not dispensing, or dispensing is turned off, patients will be notified that they need to pick up their paper prescription (green slip) from the practice:

What does Pick a Pharmacy look like for patients?

What if we don't use the electronic prescription service (EPS)?

If your practice doesn't use EPS to send patients' prescriptions to their nominated pharmacy, patients will be shown a different message when they pick their pharmacy asking them to collect their paper prescriptions before going to a pharmacy.

Where can I check/change my pharmacy settings?

You can check or change your pharmacy settings by going into βš™οΈ Settings > Form settings > Pharmacy settings (scroll down to the bottom).

Selecting 'Force patients to choose a pharmacy' will make the pharmacy question required on the registration form.
