What question do you ask about nursing/ care homes?
When a patient registers online using a care home address, our automation confirms this by cross-checking the patient address against the CQC database for care homes.
Once the automation has pciked up the address as being a verified care home address, we’ll apply the Residential Institute (RI) coding onto the patient's record as part of the registration process ensuring you get paid correctly for these patients.
On the optional local form we also ask the patient if they live in care home/ nursing home and code that information into the patient record, adding the relevant Residential Institute (RI) code, V0 🖥

Which SNOMED codes are added?
We will then apply the following SNOMED codes, depending on the care home's stated capability with CQC - the system uses the care home type registered in the CQC database to decide whether to apply the residential or nursing home SNOMED code.

How do we set up a usual gp for a care home?
